Short Biography

Gezim Jashari is the Institute for Parliamentary Democracy’s (IPD) Executive Director since August 2011. He joined IPD in December 2009 as a Program Manager on the Parliamentary Constituency Relations Network Program (PCRN) where he managed: the work of program personnel and Constituency Office Assistants (COAs); ICT of the Constituency Offices; project activities and events; provided trainings for COAs and consultancies on Constituency Relations to Members of Parliament, and held relations with Mayors, as well as parliament officials and ZELS. He brings with him in the Institute a mixture of working experience with his 7 years of work at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), 2 years in the local electronic and print media’s in Macedonia, and 2 years as a Tracing and Protection Department Assistant for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

He leads NDI Macedonia’s ICT and Public Relations working groups and the development of the Supporter and Membership Database for political parties in Macedonia, and the Casework Tracking database for the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. He has provided elections related trainings to political parties in Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and BiH and has assisted the election campaigns of the coalition of Albanian political parties in Southern Serbia.

Gezim holds a certificate from HOPE Fellowship program in Macedonia for Management and Operations and has also attended a training provided by the European Union’s CARDS Regional Program CBIB for “Cross Border Institution Building – IPA Funds Applications”.

Presently he is following his MA studies on International Relations – Diplomacy, at the University of Gothenburg – EU Tempus program with SEEU, UKIM and SUT. He is married and has a 10 years old daughter. Speaks fluently five languages Macedonian, Albanian, English, Serbo-Croatian and Turkish. He plays football and basketball, likes chess and enjoys listening music.
