e-Democracy Conference 2013 postponement

It is with great regret that we announce the postponement of the e-Democracy Conference 2013, scheduled to take place on 29 September – 01 October, 2013 at the Hotel Inex Gorica, Ohrid, Macedonia.

Due to the many similar events scheduled in the following period we decided to postpone the Conference for spring 2014. We apologize for any inconvenience this postponement may cause you.

Enhancing the e-Democracy cause in the region and transferring knowledge and expertise still remain our priorities and we believe we have made the best decision in order to maintain the quality of the Conference and to meet the expectations of our participants.

Over the next few months, we will be announcing the new date for the e-Democracy Conference and we truly hope that you will be able to attend.

myLegislative Compliance - ICT tool for self-assessment of legal compliance

myLegislative Compliance is R&D project aiming to establish a software toolkit for improving the assessment of legal compliance for businesses and citizens. This web-based self-service tool would enable organizations and private individuals to check their legal compliance and to receive relevant alert messages when their legal compliance is at risk due to proposed changes in legislation.

Being compliant with the laws and regulations is core to good corporate governance. But in reality, businesses often gamble with risks associated with compliance. With around 120 laws applicable, each organization has thousands of compliance tasks to be fulfilled and monitored. This leaves businesses but also non-government organizations and citizens at a considerable risk, to be – or to become non compliant even without realizing it.

The e-Democracy Conference 2013

Since 2010, the e-Democracy Conference has grown to become the leading e-Democracy event in the region. As much as we are proud of the success of the previous conferences, we have become even more eager to continue the tradition and spread the e-Democracy cause in the region.

In the past years we have been brought together by a common goal: to create and develop a knowledge sharing platform that would allow exchange of regional experiences and best practices in the field of e-Democracy, at the same time presenting what we know best, state-of-the-art ICT solutions that empower e-Democracy.

Followed by the success of the past three conferences and the significant impact on the enhancement of the democratic processes in the region, this year again, on the shore of the unique Ohrid Lake, we will gather the information society leaders from the region, with a mission to inspire and motivate them into embracing the challenges of e-Democracy. The fourth e-Democracy Conference will be held from 29 September – 01 October 2013.

Computer Aided Strategic Planning, Engineering and Management of Global eServices

Most of the developing countries and other underserved segments around the globe are re-inventing the wheel in their efforts to launch eServices - especially in the areas of healthcare, education, economic development, public welfare, and public safety. Due to the unnecessary trial and error, the failure rates in these segments are very high (around 80%). Unfortunately, these segments also lack educational and financial resources to improve their situation.

A Computer Aided Strategic Planning, Architecture and Management Environment – spinoff of the GAID eNabler Project -- has been developed to address this problem for global equality. This Environment -- endorsed by more than 100 countries – quickly produces highly customized plans for the type of service as well as the country/region by using the latest thinking in the field. It significantly reduces trial and error and is being used very effectively to educate as well as assist individuals in different countries to accelerate progress in crucial areas.
